doug kammerer has a new look at hurricane sandy at this hour. coug? doug? >> we show you this all the time. it gives great shots of the monuments across the area. a, you can't see a whole lot, and b, it's going in and out because of the winds down there at the airport. we'll show you what i'm talking about. temperatures at 50 degrees. look at the winds. sustained at 38 miles an hour. that is a sustained wind. very close to tropical storm force. our winds gusting to 51 miles an hour right now at the airport. we are really under the gun right now. we're going to continue to see these winds on the increase over the next few hours. that's why we continue to have the high wind warning in effect for the entire area until 8:00 tomorrow night. this will most likely be lifted tomorrow morning. at least shaved back. i expect the strongest winds between now and about 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. but could see stronger winds tomorrow afternoon, too. flood warnings, not just watches, but flood warnings, for every county in our viewing area. if you are watching us, you ar

we begin with storm team four doug kammerer with the latest on sandy's track. >> we have the latest track out there chris, that track brings it very close to our region and once again, the forecast not real letter changing all that much. the forecasts have been very good over the past couple days on when this storm is going to be going. you can see where it is right now, just off the coast of georgia here, here's savannah georgia, it's due east of savannah georgia. it's still a hurricane. the national hurricane center thought this would be a tropical storm, it's still a hurricane, still holding on, we're seeing strong wind as long the north carolina coast line. here's the winds, 75 mes an hour. moving to the northeast at 14 miles an hour. it continues to strengthen. the track taking it back out and then right back into shore. very close to our area. during the morning on tuesday. that's when i expect this to be the worst coming up late monday and into tuesday. let's talk about that wind. that's going to be the biggest factor here, as we look through the day tomorrow. i don't expect to see

i'm meteorologist doug kammerer. taking a look at the weather out there, you just have to step outside. today, just about perfect for mid-october. 68 degrees. plenty of sunshine. a great evening to get out and about. as far as the temperatures go, around the rest of the region, we're sitting at 68 degrees in cumberland, maryland, 70 in culpepper, a nice warm 73 degrees down there towards fredericksburg. once again, simply gorgeous all across our region. now, no rain to talk about in our area....
